Extreme precipitation events and rising lake surface temperatures in the Lake Victoria basin have altered pathogen loads and seasonal epidemiology of Vibrio cholerae and Cryptosporidium parvum. Longitudinal water quality telemetry and spatial epidemiological analysis revealed significant correlations between extreme runoff events and spike pathogen densities at communal landing beaches.
Cage aquaculture in the Winam Gulf and riparian waters of Lake Victoria provides vital protein and employment. This study evaluates nutrient dispersion modeling, benthos sedimentation, and economic viability of smallholder floating cages.
A comprehensive reference volume examining indigenous soil conservation techniques, terrace stabilization with vetiver grass, agroforestry intercropping systems, and watershed catchment rehabilitation in the Lake Victoria basin.
